We created our Hillsdale bakery to be a warm, inviting and easy
space to spend time enjoying delicious food. The kitchen is wide
open by design: we want you to see who we are and be part of
what we do.
We’re proud that the materials we used in the renovation
of the former Hillsdale Pastry Shop are largely recycled, sustainable
and that the space was designed and crafted by Julie’s husband,
Matt, of Matt Kappler Woodworking.
And, we’re happy to feature a frequent rotation of work from
local artists in our space.
Friends
Our small batch philosophy and attention to quality are values
shared by friends whose farms provide us with local, seasonal
and mostly organic product: Gathering Together, Persephone,
Spring Hill Farm, Viridian Produce, West Union Gardens and Your
Kitchen Garden. Supporting other local business is a priority
for us too, including our beverage partners: Zbeanz and The Tao
of Tea.
Sharing
We have made it a priority to give back in ways that are both
meaningful to us and make a difference for our community of friends
and neighbors. We make contributions to local schools,
shelters and other organizations on a daily basis with an emphasis
on education and Portland’s sustainable food culture.
